Happy Wednesday! Thank you for your work with blogs this quarter. Before we get started on the activities for today, please take a moment to reflect on the following questions. Write down your answers on the handout Deidre gives you.

1- What did you learn about blogs this quarter? List three specific things.
2- What are some reasons why bloggers blog? Give at least two examples of themes people blog about.
3-  In your opinion, is it more important for a blog to look visually appealing or have interesting information. Explain your answer.

Vocab. & Article Summary: Union Tries to Strike a Balance

Hello Civics Class,

Happy Wednesday! Can you remember the 5 W's from the worksheet yesterday? Highlight the text below for a reminder.

Group 1:  Who is the audience of the article? Who does the topic involve?
Group 2: What is the topic of the article? What are the facts?
Group 3: When do the events in the article take place? What specific dates are mentioned?
Where do the events in the article take place? What countries, states, or cities are mentioned?
Group 4: Why do you think this information is important? Did you find the article interesting? Why or why not?
Please choose one person from your group to type your answer to yesterday's worksheet in the comments section below. Once all groups have posted, we should have a great summary of the article. Here are a few tips:

  • Try to write your answer as a full sentence.
  • Don't forget to comment as "Anonymous"
  • Add your group members' names to the bottom of your comment.

When you finish, please take the practice quiz for this week's academic vocabulary.

Work Safety

Hey Civics Class-

Happy Wednesday! Today will be a fun computer day in class.

Part 1) First, we will finish the activity we started yesterday in class. Here's the picture in case you forgot it at home:

Part 2) After you finish writing your story, please type it in the comments section of the blog. Remember to change your name to "Anonymous" before you submit your comment.  Because your comment will be anonymous, it would be a good idea to add the names of people in your group to the end of your story.

Part 3) Take the vocabulary practice quiz! (Same as tomorrow's quiz)

Thank you!
